Role Purpose

Lead the implementation of quantitative and statistical models in order to effectively understand economic phenomena and anticipate relevant market trends. Also the role will lead collecting and evaluating relevant data and statistics to successfully identify economic risks or opportunities and to develop appropriate solutions in order to achieve better results.

 

Key Accountabilities

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, analysts, and statisticians to deliver high-quality data analysis and modeling projects.
  • Develop and implement data strategies that align with the department's goals and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with strategic stakeholders to gather support and integrate findings into actionable solutions.
  • Communicate complex data insights and recommendations to top management and relevant teams.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data analysis and data modeling projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

Best Practices and Innovation:

  • Identify and implement industry best practices to enhance respondent cooperation and optimize data collection methods.
  • Keep the team updated with the latest trends and developments in data analytics and data science.
  • Continuously evaluate and apply the best tools, algorithms, and technologies to enhance data initiatives.

Quality Assurance:

  • Review analytical results and models for accuracy and relevance.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet the department's standards and requirements.

 

Policies, Processes and Procedures

Follow all section policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

 

Collaboration

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to the area in order to facilitate flow of information to build awareness in those areas.

 

Day-to-Day Operations

  • Follow the day-to-day operations set by the Line Manager in the Process Management & Development section to ensure continuity of work and the delivery of effective and high quality outputs.
  • Report on a regular basis to Process Management & Development Section Manager on their operational activities, challenges, hurdles and methods of resolution or mitigation etc. as required to keep the Line Manager informed and updated about their activities.

EHS (Environment, Health and Safety)

  • Comply with all relevant EHS guidelines, policies and procedures, by reporting incidents and hazards on a timely manner, and reduce consumption of natural resources to support in protecting the environment and ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

Qualification (e.g. Academic Qualification, Certifications, Licenses)

  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters’ preferred) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of industry experience in data, statistics, analytics, or a data science role.

Experience

  • Proven experience in leading data science teams and projects.
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis techniques, statistical methods, and data modeling.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in data science tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).Convert the business insights into timely and actionable recommendation to uplift DCT’s KPIs and to enable proactive data driven decision-making
  • Manage the development, enhancement, and implementation of quantitative and statistical models in order to support forecasting activities and related applications.​​​​​​​
