Paralegal Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Research & Documentation

  • Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, case laws, and legal precedents.
  • Summarize findings and provide structured reports to legal counsel.
  • Draft, review, and format legal documents, contracts, memoranda, and correspondence.
  • Assist in preparing agreements, NDAs, MoUs, and other legal documents.
  • Proofread and edit documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with legal standards.

Contract & Compliance Management

  • Maintain and manage the legal department’s contract database and tracking systems.
  • Ensure contracts comply with internal policies, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in compliance reviews, audits, and policy updates.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes that may impact the organization and report accordingly.
  • Ensure legal department processes align with corporate governance and risk management standards.

Litigation & Case Support

  • Assist in managing litigation cases by organizing case files, tracking deadlines, and liaising with external counsel.
  • Prepare case summaries, status reports, and documentation for internal review.
  • Support the legal team in handling disputes, claims, and investigations.

Professional Administration & Coordination

  • Maintain a highly organized legal filing system (electronic and physical) with proper indexing and version control.
  • Archive legal matters, requests, attachments, and correspondence systematically.
  • Coordinate with internal departments for document collection, approvals, and follow-ups.
  • Prepare professional presentations, reports, dashboards, and training materials.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare minutes, track action items, and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Manage workload prioritization, deadlines, and service requests efficiently within the legal unit.
  • Ensure high standards of documentation, record-keeping, and administrative accuracy.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.

IT & Digital Skills

  • Utilize legal management systems, document management platforms, and contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools.
  • Maintain accurate digital records using SharePoint, OneDrive, or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Leverage Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) for document preparation, tracking, and collaboration.
  • Use advanced Excel functions for tracking legal matters, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Ensure document version control, audit trails, and proper access management.
  • Support the transition to paperless and automated legal processes.
  • Troubleshoot basic system issues and coordinate with IT teams when needed.

AI & Innovation Enablement

  • Utilize AI-powered tools to enhance legal research, document drafting, and contract review efficiency.
  • Apply AI solutions for summarizing legal texts, extracting key clauses, and identifying risks.
  • Support automation of repetitive legal and administrative tasks through digital tools and workflows.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining AI-driven legal solutions and knowledge management systems.
  • Ensure responsible and compliant use of AI tools in line with organizational and legal guidelines.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies in legal tech, AI, and digital transformation.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by recommending automation and innovation opportunities.
