Role purpose:

 

Provide strategic advice to DCT’s management on all financial matters and provide timely recommendations following leading practices and sound financial information. Participate in Influencing on business decisions to ensure that immediate and long-term implications, opportunities and risks are fully considered, and alignment with DCT’s business plans.


Key responsibilities:

 

Financial Control

 

  • Implement efficient and effective management of DCT financials of allocated sector/department through all necessary financial controls, systems and processes.
  • Maintain a robust control and governance environment in line with regulatory requirements and consistent with the DCT internal policies and ensures statutory compliances of all systems, processes & accounting practices.
  • Maintain administration of the approved accounting practices to ensure that financial statements and reports accurately reflect the status of the relevant accounts and provide reliable information.

 

Financial Reporting

 

  • Prepare and analyze all financial reports for allocates sector/department, including income statements, balance sheet and cash flow statements in accordance with financial accounting standards.
  • Coordinate with all payroll, purchase, accounts receivable, payable, ledgers and reporting systems on a regular basis and ensure compliance with required accounting standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all accounting treatments are compliant with International Finance Reporting Standards and International Accounting Standards. Ensure timely preparation of periodic and yearly financial statements as per statutory accounting regulations.

 

Liquidity Management

 

  • Implement tools and systems to provide critical financial decisions and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations to ensure healthy cash flow for allocated sector.
  • Participate in ensure the funding of investment requirements are timely processed and met.

 

Shared Activity

 

  • Carry out any other duties and responsibilities related to the role at the request of the direct manager
  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Demonstrate compliance to organization’s values and ethics at all times to support the establishment of a value drive culture within the organization.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent.
  • Professional Accreditations: CA, ACCA or CPA is preferred.

Experience

 

  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience Sourcing, procurement or any similar role.

Skills

 

  • Full professional English proficiency both in speaking and writing
  • Arabic bilingual desirable but not mandatory
  • Skilled in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
  • Administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to complete work in a timely manner
  • Expert knowledge on rebates schemes, preferably accustomed with UAE best practices
  • Experience with business planning
  • Extensive experience with program management related to finance and policy
