Role purpose:
To support the Establishments operations and follow appropriate inspection and monitoring procedures in-line with the Regulator and Licensing standards and requirements at DCT. Ensure all licensed Establishments of Culture and Tourism sector adhere to the defined standards and regulations of DCT.
Key responsibilities:
Inspection Operations
- Render support in carrying out inspections of all Establishments engaged in Culture and Tourism related activities to ensure adherence to the DCT’s policies and regulations.
- Maintain a record of issuance of warning letters with corrective actions if violations are identified and assist in inspection visits to ensure adherence to the Licensing & Regulatory Compliance standards and requirements.
- Record and report violations and assist in suggesting fines in-line with the issued laws and regulations and coordinate with other law enforcement agencies.
- Follow the inspection and monitoring processes in line with the DCT Licensing & Regulatory Compliance standards and requirements.
- Record findings from random inspections for all the Establishments to improve overall adherence to set standards and regulations.
- Maintain inspection databases with all records and reports are up-to-date for management review and to support DCT decision making process.
- Assist in the inspection of Culture and Tourism Sector Establishments and ensure adherence to the Licensing & Regulatory Compliance standards.
- Record and report violations of defaulting entities to the Compliance section to undertake suitable action and escalate the industry complaints to the higher management.
- Track and manage inspection schedules of Establishments regularly and consistently to ensure the Licensing & Regulatory Compliance standards are followed.
- Record and report inspection activities including attendance, completed inspections, violations and provide written reports to the department manager as required.
- Consolidate reports with respect to violations by Culture and Tourism sector Establishments and forward them to the compliance team.
Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Follow all relevant section policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to Establishments unit in order to facilitate flow of information and also to build awareness in those areas
Day-to-Day Operations
- Follow the day-to-day operations set by the Line Manager in the Establishments Inspections unit to ensure continuity of work and the delivery of effective and high quality outputs.
- Report on a regular basis to Establishments Inspections Head on the operational activities Establishments unit, challenges, hurdles and methods of resolution or mitigation, etc. as required to keep the Line Manager informed and updated on the Establishments unit’s activities.
EHS (Environment, Health and Safety)
- Comply with all relevant EHS guidelines, policies and procedures, report incidents and hazards in a timely manner, and reduce consumption of natural resources to support in protecting the environment and ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Change Management
- Support the creation of culture susceptible to change management through a ‘hands-on’ and ‘can-do’ approach to DCT’s new business opportunities, participating in the development of new initiatives, meeting planned targets, and demonstrating preferred high-performance behaviours.
Shared Activity
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities related to the role at the request of the direct manager
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Demonstrate compliance to organization’s values and ethics at all times to support the establishment of a value drive culture within the organization
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Arts, Business Administration or equivalent.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in Licensing & Regulatory Compliance field.
